A proud native of
Tallahassee, Florida….

Captain Ronald Beasley, a graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and is the 1st African American Navy Captain to be recognized and named as Distinguished Alumnus at FAMU. He went on to earn 2 masters degrees. His 1st was a Master’s in Business Administration from National University, and a 2nd Masters in Adult Education from Florida State University. His 23-year military career included numerous managerial positions with a huge impact taking place during positions of military and academic recruitment, and as University Admissions Officer. Ron was not only recognized as the General Naval Office Recruiter of the Year for the Navy, in addition he was also recognized as Minority Officer Recruiter of the Year for the Navy. After his success in Field Officer Recruitment he was then promoted to Commanding Officer of Naval Reserve Recruiting where he led the Western United States offices to 3 consecutive years as, Naval Reserve Recruiting Command of the Year, where he retired.

Upon his retirement Captain Beasley became a professional IT head hunter seeking placements for Fortune 500 companies. He was then recruited to start a Pilot Sea Cadet Program for Osceola County Public Schools, which proved to be a success, and went on to become a 1st such program in the Central Florida Area for Middle Schools. This led to him being selected as Osceola Country Vocational Teacher of the Year (DOVE Award) and Walt Disney World Teacheriffic Award winner for Osceola County.

A True Bridge Builder…

Continuing on in the education field, Captain Beasley took a Senior Naval Science Leadership Position in Orange County for an Urban School. This took on a passion to serve for 13 years and changing the trajectory of a failing program to a leader among such programs in the area. His school became the top feeder of minority military candidates in the state of Florida.  The Naval ROTC Program he led earned 7 Distinguished Unit Awards, 2 Unit Achievement Awards, and during his term the program had its students to be awarded over $9 million in academic and military scholarships, 5 military academy nominations, 9 commission officers, 1 African American Air Force Chaplin, and over 30 college graduates.  During his tenure he earned Teacher of the Year for the High School, and 1st Runner-up the following year, West Orlando Rotarian of the Year Award, and a Teachers Choice Award.

The students touched by Captain Beasley over the years were inspired to prove their worth and excelled. They took on higher education in STEM and other areas, Military Services, Community Outreach, Medical areas, Education, Local Government, IT management, Engineering, and Business Development as choices beyond high school.

Captain Beasley is married to Yvette Smith Beasley. The Beasley’s have two children, Lieutenant Commander Roni Beasley-Ledet, Esquire, United States Navy JAG Corps and Dr. Ronald Beasley [Pharmacy].
